Jott.com is fun. I am...

Jott.com is fun. I am using Jott.com to complete this blog entry. This allows me to call a 1-866 number and speaking into the phone it will then transcribe what I say as a entry. This should make blogging a lot easier and allow us to put more frequent blogs posting. I am not sure if I can get the hang of speaking all of the entry but I will do my best and I will also need to sign in to post pictures and movies and all the other things you cannot do speaking over the phone but did want to point out this interesting use of technology to everybody.

Spring Break Is Over

And so as our week of spring break comes to an end, we reflect on the good times and achievements that occurred.
With her younger sisters still able to go to school, Camdyn got to sleep in, watch TV, play with a friend, and get to spend time with mom and dad. She and I had a special day together were we went bowling, played pool, and visited the Children's Museum. While bowling, Camdyn got a strike and while playing pool she was able to sink several balls with her unorthodox styles. Here she is smiling for the camera while unable to stop watching the movie in the car.
Meanwhile, McKenna put together an outfit.

Camdyn helped me with some yard work yesterday, and wanted to pose with some of the trophies of our hard work (the roots we dug up):

Today the alarm clock harshly reminded us that spring break is over and its time to return to our daily routines.

Where Did March Go?

Things have been pretty busy the last few weekends, so I missed my goal of a post each weekend. Oh well. We want to Virginia Beach for Palm Sunday, then to Pennsylvania for Easter, and this weekend is the start of Camdyn's spring break. We celebrated St. Patrick's Day by wearing the green, and even McKenna managed to avoid being pinched.
That evening Marcey and the girls went to the store and decided to concoct a "green dinner", which was made all the more difficult because green vegetables were mysteriously absent.
Because we had been out of town, McKenna missed her teams first two Saturday games. This weekend we finally made it, but the weather caused play to be moved indoors. This was also picture day, and she was very photogenic. Here she is warming up:
Fortunately she practiced a little goal tending, because she spent a quarter doing just that. She blocked almost every shot that came her way.
She played the entire game and received a soccer ball patch for her uniform to recognize her as one of the outstanding players in the game.
Camdyn had her soccer practice/game last Thursday, but because Keeghan wasn't feeling well, only Dad and Camdyn went. With no other responsibilities I was asked to help as the assistant coach, so I still don't have any pictures of her playing yet. She is playing very well this year and seems to be having a lot of fun. Hopefully we'll have pictures or video sometime soon.
I can't wait to see what our April fools do this week.

How Many Words Are These Pictures Worth?

I promised some pictures of outdoor activities and soccer, and we had a fairly busy picture week, so I'll let the pictures do most of the talking this time.

We begin with the girls enjoying outdoor play:

And then some of McKenna's soccer (the superman jersey was used as a scrimmage vest):

Followed by our trip to Virginia Beach:

Keeghan took mommy's phone and here, I believe, is Keeghan texting her friends (if you thought LOL MBFF was tough, try communicating with shorthand when the only words you can say are "mommy" , "daddy", and something that may be "thank you".

And finally, here is a picture of Camdyn's class admiring their handiwork. Marcey is the room mother for Camdyn's class and on Friday, the school had a silent auction which included projects from each class that the room mothers were responsible for coordinating. Marcey deconstructed an Adirondack chair, let the students hand paint the pieces, and then reassembled the chair. The student's got to see it when it was returned for the auction.

Dogs at Dinner

As we result of the snacking we did during the afternoon, for dinner we had an easy and simple meal, hot dogs. The girls decided that the dog theme should be expanded and each person was given a stuffed animal dog to share the moment with.

Now that the weather has started to warm-up, and with more daylight starting today, the girls have started to do more things outside. They are using the opportunity to ride bikes, make chalk drawings on the driveway, try to shoot a basketball, and play in the backyard. They are also getting involved in organized soccer.

This week McKenna started soccer through the YMCA. The team is made up of three and four year-olds and has a practice one night during the week with a game on Saturday. McKenna is very excited because she thinks she get a trophy just like the ones Camdyn has received after each of her soccer seasons. Hopefully, she'll also learn that playing is fun too. Unfortunately we did not take the camera and the cellphone pictures we did take don't have the quality to post. We should have some action shots soon.

Camdyn's soccer starts this coming week. Her entire team is back together along with her coach from the last two seasons. Fortunately, her practice/games occur only one night each week.

As for Keeghan, she will now have two teams to root for and twice as much opportunity to run around and see what trouble she can get into.

The Weekend Update

If it's something that looks fun, the girls are usually eager to help. This week we needed to assemble a cart for mommy's office and each of the girls pitched in to put it together.
Today was a nice day, and we went for a walk. Keeghan prefers to ride and upon our return, she gave her big sister a chance to try out being a rider.

The girls also found entertaiment inside an empty box.

Not a lot going on this week, but just like the box, sometimes its what you do with what you're given that makes it as fun and memorable as any other one.

Birthday Guests at Little Gym

One of McKenna's classmates had a birthday party held at the Little Gym and since his little sister is in Keeghan's class, she got to come along too. They both had a really fun time, and continued to take some "baby steps" with gymnastic moves.
On the way home, I took the car through the car wash. McKenna was initially startled by the noise:
And Keeghan wasn't sure what was going on, but know she didn't like it:

She wasn't traumatized too much, because when we arrived home minutes later, she was fast asleep.
