Keeghan Turns Two Today

The last two years have gone by in the blink of an eye, but looking back she's really made the most of that time bringing us so much joy and laughter.

Can't wait to see what she does next!

School's Out for Summer

This week, the school year finally ended and Camdyn is free to lay around and watch TV. At least until next Monday, when she starts the first of many camps that will keep her (and us) busy. We've had to try out some new calanders just to keep out with the hectic summer schedule. Of course, we should have full coverage of all the interesting stuff here throughout the hot, hazy, and crazy days of summer.

Once we meet her at the bus stop, the three of us went out for some ice cream to celebrate.

McKenna's Birthday Celebration

We brought in one of Santa's elves who had been furloughed to give McKenna her presents.

Camdyn had prepared a card from the family:

And McKenna made a wish surrounded by her presents:

Because Camdyn has a "summer birthday", she also had a birthday celebration at her school. We had lunch with her and then I got volunteered to read a story to her class:

Four!!!!

It was appropriate that this is sports week at McKenna's preschool and yesterday's sport was golf so she got some practice saying "four". Marcey just says over and over "I can't believe she's four already." Of course, I'm just waiting for her to get a job and move out.

On second thought, looking back over the last four years, she's been a lot of fun so far and I'm definitely going to miss this time when she's older.
Happy Birthday McKenna!

First Grade Musical

Camdyn participated in the first grade musical that was presented to the parents at the PTA Meeting his past week. This is edited to show the highlights of Camdyn's involvement. The musical is titled "Mighty Minds" and deals with the subject of test anxiety. The Mighty Minds are superheros who teach the students that they have nothing to fear because they have been prepared and have the support of their classmates, teachers, and parents.

Part 2:

A Baseball Day

Yesterday Camdyn participated in the local minor league baseball team's clinic. For two hours she got to warmup and learn baseball skills from the team's manager and some of its players.
We had to run out the night before and pick up a glove since we only have two gloves; one is left handed and the other is a big softball one. We were able to find a pink one with matching wristband and ball.
Camdyn had almost as much funny as daddy did being on the field, meeting the team, and learning about the game. She got some practice catching fly balls, throwing, catching ground balls, and hitting. She even got to run the bases and get autographs after the clinic. On the way out of the stadium, she received a gift bag which included a ticket to that evening's game.
The game was a doubleheader and the whole family went and enjoyed some baseball.

Our Family is Growing!

Last week, while playing in the back yard Marcey noticed some dried grass sticking out of the playset. Upon futher investigation, the grass turned out to be an empty robin's nest. The next time we checked, we found two eggs, and checking again this morning we are now up to three eggs. It looks like we'll have some baby birds in about two weeks.
